Osteoarthritis is a degenerative joint condition that affects a large number of people, particularly as they age. Faced with this illness, many people are turning to alternative solutions, including cannabidiol (CBD), to find relief. But what do scientific studies say? Let's take a look together.
What is osteoarthritis?
Osteoarthritis is characterized by progressive wear and tear of the articular cartilage. Over time, this breakdown can lead to pain and stiffness, limiting the mobility of the affected joint. Although it can affect any joint, osteoarthritis is particularly common in the hands, knees, hips and spine.
CBD and osteoarthritis: what do the studies say?
CBD, derived from the cannabis plant, is known for its anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. Several studies have been conducted to examine its effectiveness in the management of osteoarthritis.
Anti-inflammatory action of CBD
One of the main characteristics of osteoarthritis is inflammation of the joints. CBD has shown an ability to reduce this inflammation, providing potential relief from the pain associated with osteoarthritis. An animal study found that CBD treatment significantly reduced signs of inflammation and pain without inducing noticeable side effects.
Analgesic potential
Beyond its anti-inflammatory effects, CBD may also act as an analgesic, helping to reduce pain. This could be particularly beneficial for people with osteoarthritis, who often experience chronic pain.
How to use CBD for osteoarthritis?
If you are considering using CBD to manage your osteoarthritis, it is essential to consult a healthcare professional. Several forms of CBD are available, ranging from sublingual oils to topical creams. For osteoarthritis, many patients find that topical application directly to the painful joint can be beneficial. On the other hand, it should be noted that many patients report that using CBD oil sublingually on a daily basis may be a better way to manage the symptoms of osteoarthritis.
Conclusion
Although CBD shows promising potential in the management of osteoarthritis, it is essential to approach it as a complement and not as a substitute for conventional treatments. Always consult a healthcare professional before starting any new procedure.

Merci beaucoup
